FAQ
- Is the app free?
- Yes, the app is free to use.
- Does the app require an internet connection?
- No. hak works fully offline. The only network activity is a one-time download of handwriting recognition models from Google when you first enable that feature.
- What languages are supported?
- Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. All four are enabled by default and can be toggled in settings.
- How do I back up my progress?
- Open the settings menu and use the backup feature to export your progress to a file of your choice. To restore, pick that file with the restore feature. Backups stay on your device unless you share the file yourself.
- How does handwriting practice work?
- Handwriting recognition runs on your device using Google ML Kit. The first time you use it, the app downloads the recognition model for each language you practice; after that, no network connection is needed.
